Question

I know my current password, but I want to change it.  How do I do that?

Answer

There are several options for changing or resetting your password.

You Know Your Current Password

If you know your current or most recent password, you can change it by visiting https://okta.nd.edu.

  1. Log into okta.nd.edu
  2. Click your name in the upper right corner of the screen
  3. Click Settings
  4. Click Edit Profile and enter your password if required.  You may also need to respond to two step authentication.
  5. Locate the Security Methods section and click the Reset button beside Password
  6. When asked if you're sure you want to reset your password, click Yes

  7. Respond to two-step authentication and your current password if prompted to do so
  8. At the reset password screen type the new password in both fields that meets the requirements listed on the screen
Note: New passwords must be at least 16 characters long. We recommend a passphrase to help you remember it (e.g. your favorite book, song or movie title)

  9. Click Reset Password

Self Service Forgotten Password

If you don't recall your current password, try using the forgotten password service.
