Architecture Virtual Computer Lab

What is an Architecture Virtual Computer lab?

Architecture Virtual Computer Lab is a Windows computer desktop that will display on your screen and give you access to applications that you would typically use in Digital Design Studio in Walsh Family Hall of Architecture for the School of Architecture. This desktop is for your individual use and is not shared with other students. However, it is only available when you are actively using it (i.e., you cannot always logout and return to the same computer at a later time). For more information about Virtual Computer Labs, see this article from OIT

How to connect your Google Drive?

Important: Make sure you save your files on Google Drive. Files saved anywhere else on the AppStream virtual instances space will be deleted when you disconnect.

To connect your Google Drive to AppStream, you will need to allow it access only once, and the connection will persist. To connect Google Drive, click on the My Files icon in the upper left of the window.

Then you can click Add Storage in the upper right and select Google Drive. Once you have authorized Google Drive access, your file open and save dialogs should allow you to open and save to Google Drive.

How to save to Google Drive?

For most software you will select ‘This PC” to access your Google Drive.
