How to Print at Notre Dame (PrintND)
This guide explains how to print documents using the PrintND system, including setup, sending print jobs, and releasing them at a printer.

Connect to the Campus Network
Before you can print, ensure your device is connected to the Notre Dame network:
- Eduroam: Connect to the Eduroam wireless network.
- Wired Campus Network: Connect your device directly to a campus Ethernet port.
- VPN: If you are off-campus, connect to the Notre Dame VPN.
Install PrintND Drivers
- If you haven't already, you'll need to install the PrintND drivers on your computer.
Send Your Print Job
- Open your document and select the print option.
- Choose a Printer: From the list of available printers, select one of the following:
- All ND BW: For black and white or grayscale printing.
- All ND Color: For color printing.
- Enter Your NetID: When prompted, enter your Notre Dame NetID.
- Quota Information: Depending on your computer's settings, you might see a small notification indicating the point deduction for your print job. Important: Your printing quota will only be deducted after you release the job at a Pharos printer station.
Release Your Print Job at a Pharos Printer
- Locate a Printer: Find a PrintND black and white or color printer at one of the many campus locations.
- Log In:
- Tap your Irish1Card (physical card or Digital ID) on the card reader.
- Alternatively, you may have an option to log in directly with your NetID and password on the printer's touchscreen.
- Confirm Login: The keypad on the printer will display your current PrintND account information. Press OK on the keypad.
- Access Print Release: Select Print Release from the options displayed on the printer's screen.
- Select Document(s): The keypad will display your print queue. Select the document(s) you wish to print.
- Print: Select Print on the keypad to begin printing your selected documents.
Important Notes:
- Unsupported Devices: Printer drivers for unsupported operating systems or mobile devices are not available. However, you may be able to print some file types from your mobile device. See Mobile Printing Instructions for more details.
- Irish1Card/Digital ID Sync: This synchronization process occurs approximately every three hours. If your new card or digital ID isn't working immediately, please wait a few hours.
