Question

How do I enroll the Okta Verify App on my smartphone or Tablet?

Answer

  1. Login to Okta by visiting okta.nd.edu and enter your NetID and password
  2. When prompted for two step, respond with a previously enrolled option
  3. Locate the Extra Verification panel and the option for Okta Verify Mobile App
  4. Click the Setup button beside it

    1. If you've previously configured the app and wish to reconfigure it, click Reset and then Setup
  5. Select the icon for the type of mobile device you have (Apple, Android or Windows), then click Next

  6. On your mobile device:
    1. Visit your device's app store, then locate and install the Okta Verify app
    2. Launch the Okta Verify app (Images from iOS, Android and Windows apps should be similar)
    3. Allow Camera Access and Push Notifications when prompted

    4. Click Add Account or the plus symbol

    5. The camera will open, then scan the barcode (QR code) on your computer screen

    6. Enter your Touch ID if prompted
  7. A check will appear on the barcode
    1. The screen on your smartphone may begin displaying a number with a moving circle, and the number changes every 30 seconds. This is a time-based, one-time passcode you can use as an alternative to Okta Verify Push notifications.
  8. Click Done
