The following are supported multifactor authentication (MFA) factors:
- Okta Verify for Passwordless Authentication - biometric or pin-based authentication without the need to enter a password
- Okta Verify app on your smartphone - push notification or one time code
- Google Authenticator - one time code generated by standalone app or 1Password
- YubiKeys - physical security key that plugs into a USB port
- Passkeys - saved on your device or synced in 1Password, Apple iCloud or other password manager

- We recommend enrolling at least two factors to ensure you can access your account
- Okta Verify for Passwordless Authentication, YubiKeys, and device-bound or cloud-synced passkeys are considered phishing resistant, and must be used for apps requiring more secure factors
- Passkeys saved in 1Password and Google Authenticator codes generated in 1Password are good MFA options for shared accounts
- There are a variety of ways to use MFA without a smartphone or tablet
