Before You Begin

By default Zoom disables participant screen sharing due to security concerns but hosts can still share their screen. As the host, you can allow participants to share their screen during a meeting or for all existing and future meetings.

Tip:

Allow Participants to Share Screen During a Zoom Meeting

  1. In the Zoom meeting, click Security. Zoom Security button in the meeting controls.

  2. Under Allow participants to: select Share Screen.

  3. Make sure there is a checkmark next to Share Screen.

  4. Participants can now share their screen. You can turn this setting on or off at any time during the meeting.

Allow Participants to Share Screen for All Meetings

You can change the default setting in your Zoom account so participants can share their screen in all existing and future meetings.

  1. Sign in to zoom.nd.edu.

  2. Click Settings in the left navigation. Zoom account Settings page in the left navigation menu.

  3. Scroll to the Screen Sharing section.

  4. Under Who can share?, select All Participants. Zoom Screen Sharing setting with Who can share set to All Participants.

  5. All previous and future meetings will allow participants to share their screen. If you need to disable this for a specific meeting, use the Security button steps above.
