Before You Begin

Before starting your Zoom meeting, log in at zoom.nd.edu. Logging into Zoom before starting the meeting will ensure you are brought in as the host. If you do not log in to Zoom before starting, you may have difficulty accessing host-only controls such as a recording, breakout rooms, and assigning co-hosts.

If you are not logged in when you start your Zoom meeting, you can follow these steps to claim host/take control of your meeting to enable all of the host features of Zoom.

Steps to Claim Host/Take Control During a Zoom Meeting:

1. From the Zoom main control window, select Participants.

2. From the pop-up box that appears listing all of your participants, select the Claim Host button.

3. Click Sign In to Claim Host.

4. Click Sign In with SSO.

5. Enter in “notredame” in the Company Domain field and click Continue.

6. If prompted, sign in with your Notre Dame NetID and password and complete the Okta 2-step verification.

7. Click on the Participants button in lower navigation of Zoom to confirm you are listed as the host. You should now have all the permissions needed as the host.
