Question

How can I install pre-approved software such as Microsoft Office onto my Notre Dame owned computer?

Answer

If your computer is university-owned and managed, software is advertised to the ND Self Service application to make application installs simpler and more streamlined.

  1. Click on Spotlight Search (the magnify glass icon at the top right of the menu bar)
  2. Search for the Self Service app and open it
  3. Click on the desired software to install
  4. Click Install
  5. The Self Service app can be closed at any time and the installation will complete in the background

For best results it is recommended to select and install one application at a time.

Note: If you are unable to locate Self Service on your computer, it may not be centrally managed and you'll need further assistance from your departmental IT support staff.
