The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces the Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC and was designed to harmonize data privacy laws across Europe, to protect and empower all EU citizens data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy. The implementation date of GDPR is May 25, 2018.

The OIT partnered with the Office of General Counsel (OGC) to complete a Project Assessment to determine the University’s risk and approach to this new requirement.

As a result of this Project Assessment, a GDPR Inquiry Form is being created in ServiceNow to address incoming inquiries. In the interim, please direct all inquiries to infosec@nd.edu.

Each department will identify a point person who will be the primary contact in the event the department receives a GDPR related query. The point person will complete a GDPR Inquiry form in ServiceNow and will be contacted by central administration to assist in following up on the query.

OIT Support Staff or the OIT Help Desk can provide assistance in submitting the request if needed.

If you have questions or need additional information, contact infosec@nd.edu
