Panopto provides detailed analytics at both the folder and video level, allowing you to track student engagement and identify which videos are most watched. You can also download this data for further analysis.

Key Notes
- The default reporting period is the last 30 days. Use the dropdown in the top-right of the analytics panel to adjust the date range.
- To download data, click the Download link in the top-right of any chart or table.
View Folder Analytics
1. Log in to panopto.nd.edu with your Notre Dame NetID and password.
(If you’re in Canvas, you can click the Panopto tool in your course to access the same analytics.)
2. In the Browse panel on the left, navigate to the course or folder you want to analyze.
(Click triangles to expand folders—most courses will be under the “Canvas” folder.)
3. Click the Folder Stats icon in the top-right of the window.
(This icon appears in any folder or video where analytics are available.)
4. A chart will display:
Minutes Delivered (Orange line)
Number of views (Blue bars)
Unique viewers (Green bars)
Note: The reporting period in this example has been changed to Custom.
5. Below the chart, a table lists metrics for each video in descending order of viewing time.

View Video-Level Analytics
6. When viewing individual video stats:
The top chart displays minutes viewed, number of views, and unique viewers.
The bottom chart shows a timeline of video views. Hover your mouse over points on the graph to see spikes in viewership. They may indicate areas students found especially helpful or confusing.
Scroll further down to view top student viewers. Click See All to show the full list of viewers and their viewing times.
7. You can access individual video analytics from anywhere in Panopto by clicking the Stats icon next to the video.
