Question:
How to set up an automated response on a Gmail account.
Context:
Gmail
Answer:
-
Open your Gmail account settings: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/general
-
Or within Gmail, click the Gear icon and select See all settings
-
- Scroll down to the Vacation responder section (stay in the General tab)
- Select Vacation responder on.
- Fill in the date range, subject, and message
- You can limit who can see your vacation response by checking one of the options:
- Check the box next to Only send a response to people in my Contacts if you don't want everyone who emails you to receive the auto-reply
- You'll also see an option to only send a response to people in your domain (e.g. people at the University of Notre Dame).
- If you check both of these boxes, only people who are in your contacts and have a Notre Dame address will receive the automatic response.
- If you do not check either box, everyone who sends you an email will receive your auto-reply.
- Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
