Question

How do I allow another Notre Dame Zoom user to host a meeting that I've scheduled?

Resolution

The alternative host option allows you to schedule meetings and have another user host that session.

Note: The first alternative host to join before the meeting scheduler will be granted controls. The scheduler can reclaim host controls by going to Participants and select Reclaim Host.

  1. Go to zoom.nd.edu
  2. Click Schedule a Meeting
  3. On the bottom of the screen, you'll find a field for Alternative Hosts
  4. Input the user's netid@nd.edu, each separated by a ;. Please note, this user must have a Notre Dame Zoom account.

If you have already scheduled the meeting, please follow these steps:

  1. Log into zoom.nd.edu
  2. Select Meeting on the left side
  3. Select the Upcoming Meetings tab
  4. Click on the Meeting Title
  5. Click Edit this Meeting
  6. In the Alternative Hosts field at the bottom of the page, input the user's netid@nd.edu, each separated by a ; . Please note, this user must have a Notre Dame Zoom account.
  7. Click Save

Note:  A user designated as an 'Alternative Host' will not see the details of the meeting displayed in their Zoom account.
