Question

How to acquire Microsoft Office for personal use as a student.

Resolution

Notre Dame has licensed Microsoft Office for students, so you can download the latest version at no cost to you.

  1. Go to portal.office.com
  2. Type in your NetID@nd.edu in the username field, and press Enter on your keyboard
  3. Login with your NetID and password on the Notre Dame login page
  4. You can launch any of the web versions of the applications, or Install Office

  5. If you choose to Install Office it will download the installer to your computer.  Launch that file and follow the on-screen instructions.

You will have access to this license until you graduate or leave Notre Dame.
