Resolution

Transfer ownership of a calendar event to another person

If you are the organizer of an event, you can transfer ownership to another person. Once the transfer is complete, the new owner manages all event details.

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar using your Notre Dame credentials.
  2. Click the event you want to transfer to view the event details.
  3. In the pop-up window, click Options (the three vertical dots) in the top right corner and select Change owner.
  4. Enter the email address of the new owner and include an optional message.
  5. Click Change owner.
  6. The new owner will receive an email notification with a link to accept. You remain the owner of the event until the new owner accepts the invitation.
Transfer an event to a calendar that you own (ex: for a personal event that you want your personal account to be the owner)

You can also move an event between different calendars that you personally manage (e.g., from your primary calendar to a secondary project calendar).

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar.
  2. Click the event you want to move.
  3. Click Edit event (the pencil icon).
  4. Next to the calendar icon and your calendar name, click the Down arrow to select a different calendar.
  5. Select the destination calendar from the dropdown menu.
  6. Click Save at the top of the page.
