Context
Apple computers running macOS Big Sur version 11 or later need the latest printer drivers.
Answer
If your Macintosh uses macOS Big Sur version 11 or later, you will need to install the latest printer drivers following these instructions:
- Download the latest PrintND print drivers from print.nd.edu or from the OIT software downloads page.
- Locate the MacPackage.dmg file in your Downloads folder and double click to open.
- Locate the MacPackage.pkg and either right click on it or control+click to reveal a contextual menu.
- Click Open to open the installer package.
- macOS may prompt you to bypass security settings to run the installer. Click Open to safely continue.
- macOS may prompt you for permission to use the installer on your hard drive. If prompted, select OK to continue.
- The installer will launch. Click Continue to proceed.
- Click Install.
- Enter your computers username and password and click Install Software. Some Macs may ask for touchID instead.
- Let the installer complete installation.
- When the installation completes, click Close to finish.
- If your Mac asks you to send the install package to the trash, you can by clicking Move to Trash.
