Lucidchart Access and Licensing

Lucidchart is a cloud-based software product which facilitates creation of diagrams, flowcharts, process maps, organization charts, and other aids to visual communication and collaboration.

Lucidchart, once free for use to Higher Ed, is now a pay-for-use service. Lucid's license structure includes two options within Lucid's "ND domain."

Education View  (free license) - Read and View existing charts within the ND domain

A View license allows only view rights within the domain (and for those who have created charts under the prior "free model," the ability to view and comment on their content).

Education Premium (paid license)  - Create, Edit, and View charts

With a Premium license, a user may create and edit Lucidchart content. Premium license holders have access to a Customer Success Manager (CSM) and to dedicated technical support from Lucid.

The Premium license is priced at $50 per user, renewable annually on March 1st.

OIT will administer licensing for Lucidchart via its Central Software Service. Those seeking a Premium license will complete a request form in Service Now. A FOAPAL is required for license acquisition.
