Question

How do I change which factor to use for two-step when I log in?

Context

Answer

When prompted for a two-step login, the system will usually default to the last option that you used from that device or browser.  To choose a different authentication factor, follow these steps:

  1. When prompted for two-factor authentication, click verify with something else.

  2. You will be presented with a list of the options you currently have enrolled.

  3. Click Select for the option you wish to use.

Note:

  • Your list may vary depending on what options you have previously enrolled. To enroll a different factor follow the instructions in KB0017560.
  • After selecting the desired factor, follow the instructions that appear to authenticate using that option.
