Question: What are my options for making and receiving calls when traveling Internationally?

Context: Mobile phone options

Answer: Most cell carriers offer options you can select when traveling internationally. It is important to enroll in an international plan before you depart on your trip. You'll want to review the options of your specific provider and select the option that works best for your needs. We've provided links to the most common carriers below. We recommend you login with your account information as that will usually give you the options that are already tailored for your device and existing plan.

Some providers also offer loaner or rental phones for international travel, or you can purchase an inexpensive prepaid phone. This can be especially helpful if you will be traveling to a high-risk country and wish to reduce the chance that personal, confidential or sensitive data on your personal phone falls into the wrong hands.

Reminder: If your phone will have a different phone number while traveling, be sure to enroll it as a device you can use for Two Step Authentication before you depart for your trip.
