What does Vocareum do?
- Instructors are able to create grading scripts to auto-grade coding assignments.
- Instructors are able to create assignments with rules and resources for peer review and team projects.
- Programming languages supported: C/C++, Python, Java, Julia, R -language, Spin, Erlang, Go, OCaml, and Scala. See https://www.vocareum.com/home/programming-lab/ for current listing.
- Coursework supported: Programming, Big Data, Data Science, Embedded components, Robotics, Internet of things, Cloud Computing.
- Vocareum, if you choose to integrate with Sakai, automatically pushes grades back to the Sakai gradebook from the Vocareum system and automatically discovers and populates within Vocareum the class roster.
- Students and Instructors don't need to set up desktop Integrated Development Environments (IDE); Vocareum is cloud-based. Everyone uses the same IDE.
Support for Vocareum at Notre Dame
- To use Vocareum, make a request for a Vocareum course site. Email the Sakai_Team-group@nd.edu to set up your Vocareum site.
- Vocareum can be integrated with Sakai or used apart from Sakai.
- Some programs at Notre Dame may require a student purchase of the Vocareum license. Check your department to see if others have adopted Vocareum and how they've dealt with this.
