Issue: I replaced my phone. How do I enroll the new phone for Okta Verify?
Resolution: You'll need to use a different previously enrolled option in order to authenticate at okta.nd.edu. You can then enroll the new phone, replacing the settings for the old one, by following these steps:
Note: If you do not have any other options enrolled and cannot follow the steps below, contact the OIT Help Desk (call 574-631-8111, chat at servicenow.nd.edu or visit 115 DeBartolo Hall) for assistance. We will need to verify your identity and that cannot be done via email.
- Login at okta.nd.edu (if you are already logged into Okta, go to Step 4)
- If you are prompted for two step login, select an option that you previously enrolled that has NOT changed.
- For instance, if you got a new phone but the number stayed the same, you could use SMS or Voice Call instead if you previously enrolled those factors.
- To change which factor you wish to use, click on the small arrow (circled in red below) and make your selection from the list that appears.
- When you have successfully logged on, click your name in the upper right corner of the screen and then choose Settings
- Click Edit Profile
- Locate the Extra Verification section and choose the factor that you wish to add or change by clicking the Setup or Remove button beside it.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to enroll the new option.
