What is a Zoom Webinar?

A Webinar is a seminar conducted on the Internet. Zoom-supported webinars have three different participant types: Host, Panelists, and Attendees. The Host and Panelists are full participants in the meeting. They can view and send video, screen-share, annotate, etc. The Host can invite up to 50 Panelists to a webinar. Attendees will see the presenter(s) and any shared screens. Attendees can also submit questions via chat. These can be answered in kind or live to the webinar participants. Webinars can be live-streamed on "Youtube Live" and "Facebook Live." They can also be recorded. The maximum number of attendees depends the package purchased from Zoom.

You may host a webinar with or without attendee registration. You may also access attendance reports for your webinar.

If you anticipate more than 100 participants in the webinar, OIT recommends consulting with ND Studios. They offer professional production services including studio space, broadcast engineers, and top of the line audio and video production. ND Studios services are fee-based.

How much does a Webinar Cost?

A Webinar is a premium service that can be billed to a FOAPAL. It can be treated as a subscription plan and employed on a repeating basis.

Shared License Rate

Shared licenses are available on a first-come first-served basis.

Dedicated Annual License Rate (unlimited use for the year)

Dedicated annual licenses are best if you wish to register participants or generate reporting in connection with your webinars.

To request a shared-use or annual Zoom webinar license, please contact Michael Ball, Zoom Product Manager ( mball@nd.edu). Please be prepared to provide a FOAPAL and to specify the license type and size you'll require. The OIT requests a week's notice in advance for provisioning the license.

Training relative to administering a Webinar is available directly from Zoom
