Question: How do I report spam email?

Context: Gmail accessed through a web browser.

Answer: If an email is just junk mail, but is not asking for personal email like passwords or credit card information. You can report it as spam:

  1. Open the message you'd like to report.
  2. Click the spam button  in the toolbar above the message. 


If you see a suspicious message asking you for personal information, like passwords or credit card numbers, you can report the message as phishing:

  1. Open the email you'd like to report.
  2. At the top-right corner of the message, click the down arrow next to the Reply button.
  3. Select Report Phishing.
