How to configure a Google Group to send a confirmation email and auto-reply

Answer

Only Group Owners and Group Managers can adjust this setting

Classic Groups Interface

  1. Go to My Groups: https://groups.google.com/a/nd.edu/forum/#!myforums
  2. Click the blue Manage button under the name of the group you want a confirmation message
  3. Open the Settings category and click on Email Options
  4. In the Auto replies section, check the box for Enable auto-reply message for members inside the organization.
    1. You may select another option depending on the group
  5. In the text box that appears, type your preferred confirmation message.
  6. Click the blue Save button at the top of the page.

 New Groups Interface

  1. Go to My Groups: https://groups.google.com/a/nd.edu/forum/#!myforums
  2. Click the name of the group you want a confirmation message
  3. Click Group Settings and in the expanded list, click Email options
  4. For the section Auto replies, check the box for Enable auto-reply to members inside the organization
    1. You may select another option depending on the group
  5. Click the Save changes button at the bottom
