Question

How do I connect to the eduroam wifi network using an Android device?

Answer

  1. On your Android device, visit eduroam.nd.edu with your preferred browser (e.g. Chrome)

  2. The eduroam page should detect your device and operating system automatically

  3. Near the bottom of the eduroam page, in step 1 select Google Play and click Download

  4. Your app store will open to the SecureW2 Join Now app. Click Install

  5. After installing, please open back up the eduroam.nd.edu website. Near the bottom of the eduroam page, tap the JoinNow button. The JoinNow app installed earlier will open.

  6. You may be prompted if you have a version of android 9.0+. If you receive this prompt, click I Understand

  7.  You may be prompted to let the app configure location. If you receive this prompt, click Yes, app will configure and connect

  8. You will be prompted to allow the app permission to access location by the phone. Click Allow all the time

  9. At the login screen, enter your netid@nd.edu username and your password. Click Continue

  10.  Eduroam setup warns that you will shortly receive a prompt to Allow suggested Wi-Fi networks. When you receive the prompt, click Allow.

  11. You will receive a success message for configuration as shown below. If you are within range of eduroam, find eduroam in your wifi settings and tap to connect.
