Clearing a Jammed Sheet

If a sheet jams, follow the steps below to remove it.

 

1. Turn off the power to the printer.

2. Open the top cover.

 

3. If the Carriage is out, move the Carriage out of the way, away from the paper.

4. Lift up the release lever.

 

5. If the paper is visible, hold the paper and pull it out toward the front.

 

6. If you cannot see the paper, lift the output guide, remove the roll holder, and remove the jammed paper from underneath.

After removing the paper, inspect the interior to ensure paper fragments or other objects do not remain, and lower the output guide.

 

7. If the Carriage is on the left, move the Carriage to the right until it stops.

8. Lower the release lever and close the top cover.

 

9. Turn on the power to the printer.

Clearing Jammed Roll Paper

If roll paper jams, follow the steps below to remove jams.

1. Turn off the power to the printer.

2. Open the top cover.

3. If the Carriage is out, move the Carriage out of the way, away from the paper.

 

Important

 

 

4. Lift up the release lever.

 

5. Holding the paper on both sides, pull the jammed portion out toward the front. Use scissors or a cutting tool to cut away the printed or wrinkled portion.

6. If the Carriage is on the left, move the Carriage to the right until it stops.

7. While holding the leading edge of the roll paper in the middle and gently and evenly pulling until it reaches the output guide (A) position, align the right edge of the roll paper parallel to the paper alignment line (B), and lower the release lever.

8. Close the top cover.

 

9. Turn on the power to the printer.

The roll is advanced and the printer is ready to print.
