Question

How do I connect to DirecTV in my residence hall?

Context

DirecTV

Answer

DirecTV is the campus TV service provider for Notre Dame. For students, DirecTV can only be accessed in common areas like LaFortune ground floor, dorm lounges, break rooms, Duncan Student Center ground floor and in the Smith Center for Recreational Sports in the Duncan Student Center.

Fall 2022 UPDATE.  As of fall semester 2022, mobile streaming of Cable TV offered through the ArtioPortal app or the web browser pointed to watchtv.nd.edu or to tv.campus.nd.edu is no longer available.

Past usage of the streaming TV service was extremely low.  The University made the decision to remove the streaming service and will invest the savings to improve WiFi in outdoor spaces.  Student feedback has consistently shown keen interest in improving WiFi in outdoor spaces across campus.

The DirecTV channel lineup remains the same for all campus TVs connected by wired connections in common areas and in the exercise equipment located at the Smith Center for Recreational Sports.

Students wishing to connect a TV in their residence hall can select from any number of 'smart' TV applications including Hulu Live, YouTube TV, Apple TV, Fubo, Netflix, etc.  There are no live wired connections available for TV in a student room.
