Notre Dame's Math department has purchased an enterprise license to the Maple TA STEM tool. Because Notre Dame has an enterprise license, no extra fees to you or your students are necessary, nor any specialized login as long as you access the tool through your existing Sakai/ND credentials.
To add the tool to any site in Sakai you must be an Instructor, TA Registrar or Designer. The navigation path is simple: Settings (Site Info) > Manage Tools. Scroll down to the Plug-Ins section and click on "Maple TA", follow through on the rest of the screens and you'll have access to this powerful tool.
Maple TA contains many features that only subject matter experts will appreciate, and which you come to expect in your field(s). We therefore want to direct you to source documentation and guidance rather than rely on our non-subject matter expertise. You'll find valuable reference on the vendor's site: http://www.maplesoft.com/products/mapleta/support.aspx
Known existing uses here at Notre Dame include:
- Dr. Gabe Radvansky and Dr. Anre Venter with multiple choice, auto-graded, simultaneous testing of ~300 students in the freshman Introduction to Psychology class.
- Calculus Readiness/Placement testing. Dr. Arthur Lim consults on these.
- Math 10350 and Math 10360 courses also make use of Maple TA
