What is Panopto?

Panopto is Notre Dame’s secure, campus-wide video platform used for recording, uploading, storing, and sharing academic content. Think of it as a private, ad-free YouTube tailored for education.

Panopto is available to all faculty, staff, and students. To get started, log in at panopto.nd.edu using your Notre Dame NetID and password.

Video hosting

Use Panopto to store and share your media content, including:

Reuse Course Videos

Upload existing video files (e.g., .mp4, .wmv, .mov, .avi) for use in future classes. Students can access videos on any device..

Store and Share Zoom Recordings

Zoom cloud recordings are automatically saved to your private Meeting Recordings folder in Panopto. Learn more in About the Zoom to Panopto Integration.

Embed YouTube Videos in Panopto

Incorporate YouTube clips directly into Panopto recordings. You can even define specific start and end times. See Embed A YouTube Video Into A Panopto Session
